Contributions -vs- Donations
What’s the difference?
A.A.’s 7th Tradition - in its long form states;
“The A.A. groups themselves ought to be fully supported
by the voluntary contributions of their own members.”
Alcoholics Anonymous is self-supporting
through our own contributions.
The contributions help to cover the group’s expenses.
It is both a privilege and a responsibility of individual groups
and members to ensure that our organization, at every level,
remains forever self-supporting and free of outside influences
that might divert us from our primary purpose.
The monetary amount of each contribution
is secondary to the
spiritual connection
that joins us in unity with A.A. groups around the world.
When contributing directly to the General Service Board, Area or District
within the General Service Structure outside of your homegroup -
be sure to acquire your registered Group’s legacy number
from your Home Group’s General Service Representative or Treasurer.
The 3 Leg Group’s number is #319597.
This way, your contribution stays connected with your home group
to ensure the groups remain on top of A.A.’s upside down triangle
and continue holding the ultimate authority
through the Power of the Purse in support of Concept 7.
